Wychwood Park is a historic and affluent neighborhood in Toronto, Ontario, known for its picturesque setting and artistic heritage. Founded by painter Marmaduke Matthews and businessman Alexander Jardine in the late 19th century, it was designed as an artists' colony inspired by the English Wychwood Forest. The community, with its Arts and Crafts-style homes, many designed by architect Eden Smith, is built around a central park with a pond. It's a private enclave with its own governance and is notable for being Ontario's first residential zone to achieve heritage status under the Ontario Heritage Act in 1985.
