Helping Small Businesses Get Online
 

Homes & Zones is a nonprofit organization that helps small businesses improve their online presence.
 

Many active businesses still do not have a website. That can make it harder for customers to find them, learn about their services, or contact them online.
 

To help address this, Homes & Zones provides simple, professional websites, domain names and hosting to selected small businesses at no required cost.
 

Why We Created This Program
 

The goal is simple: help more small businesses get online.
 

A website gives a business a place where customers can:
 

• learn what the business does,

• find them using keyword search terms,

• find contact information,

• see services offered,

• view hours or service areas,

• and connect with the business directly.
   

For many small businesses, a basic website is an important first step toward becoming easier to find online and showing customers their business is open, active, and ready to serve.

Built by Students Gaining Real Experience
 

Websites created through this program are prepared by university students studying areas such as:
 

• e-commerce,

• website development,

• marketing,

• graphic design,

• and digital business.

The program gives students real-world experience while helping small businesses receive something useful.

Helping Students Learn

Because websites are developed by students gaining real-world experience, participating businesses may be invited to complete a short feedback survey about the website and their overall experience.

Positive feedback may also help participating students build confidence, strengthen their portfolios, and support future educational or career opportunities.
